US-Japan Foundation Honors Ambassador Yoshio Okawara in Tokyo

Tokyo, Japan - April 2007

The United States – Japan Foundation, gave its second Distinguished Service Award to former Ambassador Yoshio Okawara at a dinner held at the residence of US Ambassador to Japan Amb. J. Thomas Schieffer.

Ambassador Okawara was recongnized for his life-long commitment to improving understanding between the U.S. and Japan. Ambassador Okawara served as Japan's Ambassador to the United States and currently serves as President of the Institute for International Policy Studies and the America-Japan Society.
