US-Japan Foundation Honors Mr. Yohei Sasakawa in Shimoda, Japan

The United States – Japan Foundation passed a resolution at its April 6, 2008 Board Meeting honoring Mr. Yohei Sasakawa for his commitment to promoting social development in the world, improving public health and education, alleviating poverty and hunger, helping the disabled and impoverished, and especially for his commitment to eliminating the disease, stigma and social discrimination attached to leprosy.
The Resolution expresses its pride and profound appreciation for Yohei Sasakawa’s effective, dedicated service, and its hope that he will continue to share his wisdom, friendship and experience with the Board in the years ahead.
Mr. Yohei Sasakawa is presented with the Resolution by Board Chairman Mr. Thomas S. Johnson and Ambassador Robin Duke.
